Soaring Our Heights
By Bart Lee
A smoldering rainstorm remembers,
A lightning strike that lingers for a lifetime,
Like springtime's promise to December,
Hearts counting the days, standing in line.
If only wishes could reach across the miles,
Make the thundering distance disappear,
If only I could dress my days in your smiles,
Share your laughter, your victories, your tears.
I still have everything you left behind,
Pictures in my mind, whispers in my nights,
There for me to slip away in sweet rewind,
Into the depths of memory, soaring our heights.
