FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE.
IVIIV FourTwoFive Films
Since the partnership of Bruce Reisman and Kris Black created FourTwoFive Films in 2007, the independent film company set out to obtain independent financing to create, develop, and to produce its own motion pictures.
As free-lance screen and television writers, Reisman and Black took on the challenge to deficit finance their own material for production, rather than work as employees for other producers as merely writers.
With Bruce Reisman's near 40 years of experience as a writer, director, and producer... along with Kris Black's youthful, edgy skill as an actor, writer, painter, and overall business sense, the team forged ahead in this daunting task. Within a few months, they were in production with "The House That Jack Built", a thriller. Given that this genre was generally the safest bet for immediate sales and marketing, targeting the coveted MTV generation, the dye was cast.
Of course, with many "maiden voyages", the seas were rough, and the journey was not an easy one. But, after letdowns, delays, setbacks, and the usual obstacles, "The House That Jack Built" was completed.
With a sure fire cast (for both the domestic and foreign markets) that included "Criminal Minds" star Joe Mantegna, 4-time Emmy nominee Gail O'Grady, Hal Sparks (star of the mega-Showtime hit series, "Queer as Folk"), along with an ensemble cast led by Kris Black, "The House That Jack Built" nimbly, but sometimes haltingly, moved along to completion. But, as they say, good things come to those who wait.
During its year-long (not unusual) process, "The House That Jack Built" and FourTwoFive Films, somehow gained the attention, and enthusiasm of the worldwide media.
Even before its completion, "Jack" and Black (it's hot young star) found themselves the talk of young Hollywood. Word on the street was that this "little" company and its little thriller, were creating something exciting, both artistically and commercially.
By shooting "Jack" on the new, state-of-the-art RedCam, industry interest grew rapidly. Since director Reisman chose to use the RedCam, everyone was anxious to not only see its "rumored" technical brilliance, but to see if a feature film could be shot on technology that boasted 35mm quality picture at a fraction of the cost. As footage from "Jack" leaked onto the internet, it became obvious that "The House That Jack Built" was the project to watch closely. Apparently, what other directors saw looked good. And within months, huge projects like "Angels and Demons" under Ron Howard's direction, announced that they would be shot on the RedCam.
On July 14, 2009, "The House That Jack Built" had its world premiere at the Arc Light theater in Hollywood. Once again, the little company and the little thriller created a buzz and excitement. Reisman and Black, from different generations, continue to be the focus of the print and electronic media. Together, they've become the team to talk to at major Industry events in Hollywood. They've earned the reputation as "Two guys," according to United Talent Agent Carlos Carerras, "who actually gets things done and doesn't simply talk the talk". Seeing the writing on the wall for many months, Bruce Reisman and Kris Black have moved forward with their second, project, "Five Good Years". Co-written by the team, and to star Black with Reisman once again directing, their original screenplay was sent out into Hollywood for casting "packaging". The response to this deeply moving material was more than anyone expected. With top agencies liked United Talent, Paradigm, and Endeavor "covering" the material to raves, Reisman and Black chose to deficit finance the development of "Five Good Years" themselves. Using their own money, they've kept their "shop" alive; and finally got their financing of the $5 million movie in-place. As pre-production continues for an early Fall 2009 shoot, "Five Good Years" began its "behind the scenes" documentary, to be directed and produced by Carmelo Valone. As part of this exciting project, Kris Black's photo shoot for Mens Health Magazine, was filmed. The early footage and sneak peeks of the actual "shots" taken by esteemed L.A. based photographer, Ken Braydan Mathews, will soon be accessible on the company's website, www.FourTwoFiveFilms.com The partners, Reisman and Black, will continue their 12-month plan with three more movies they've written. Filming will begin in March 2010 on "Boarding School", another thriller starring Black, to be directed by Hank Braxtan (who created the visual effects for "Jack Built").
Following "Five Good Years" and "Boarding School", Kris Black will make his directorial debut with "4:20". Bruce Reisman will produce the film, to be shot entirely on location on the streets of Hollywood. Black and Reisman co-wrote the "stoner comedy", which follows the formula of a raunchy, youth-driven story that appeals to all age groups: those who currently "partake" and those of us who remember "the good old days" when" to party"was to party "hearty" "From Sea To Shining"written by Bruce Reisman, has been a "dream" project for the veteran director for many years, with production finally in sights for late in 2010. To be directed by Reisman, "Shining" tells the heartfelt story of a wheel-chair bound Iraq war vet, whose benefits are suddenly taken away by the country he fought so proudly to defend. In protest, the young medical student rides his wheel chair across country, from California to Washington D.C. With a slate of movies to come, on the heels of "The House That Jack Built", FourTwoFive Films is fast-becoming the indie company to watch. Terrific material is the foundation of FourTwoFive Films, and because of that, the company has achieved a very high profile.
