In the music industry it is said that versatility equals longevity. If this is true then this month the featured artist is a shoe in for the long haul. With a flow that interchanges fluidly between Gangsta rap, poetry, back pack, chi style, Tru thoughts is sure to leave his mark on the game. Conjuring up such heavy hitting influences as Tupac, Big L and Chicago's own Twista. Tru thoughts is a part of a new breed that is looking for knowledge to inspire and change the world with. Both his lyrics and his persona should be more than enough to accomplish just that. "I want to keep the poetry and political speech alive in the art form. The Chicago native, raised in the south suburb of Markham, has a little bit of just about everything in his musical storehouse. On the undeniably catchy track "you can catch me in Markham", Tru thoughts shows his lighter side, while the eerie "homicide" paints a vivid picture of street violence with a screwed and chopped accompaniment. "When I rap I try to paint pictures, I want my songs to play like movies." It is this flare for the dramatic that makes him a formidable player in the game. As dead on as his solo efforts are thoughts also holds some pretty hefty backup, which includes stackin money entertainment, Booiee D, Ill G, Hollow tip and Infinity clique. All in all this artist seems to be the truth. As for what Tru Thoughts sees for himself in the not so distant future, "I honestly see me as a millionaire/philanthropist, married to my girl, hopefully, with a house full of kids, I just see myself makin it man, living positive."
